Dr. Haggen So is the president and honorary CEO of HKCOTA. He is one of the main organisers of Hong Kong Open Source Conference, the biggest local Open Technology event. He also was the former Project Manager of the Creative Commons Hong Kong and still an active volunteer of the local movement. Dr. So is also active in global movements such as Creative Commons, One Laptop Per Child and GNOME desktop environment.

Graduated from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, Dr. So has been previously engaged in teaching, research and management in different tertiary institutions in Hong Kong. Moreover, he also has commercial experiences in the areas of software and hardware development. Recently, he picked up sport climbing as a hobby, to remind himself the importance of risk taking in life.
